| Did You Attend the Annual Meeting? Were you among the missing at the last annual meeting of the River Crest HOA? Everyone should mark their calendars for our next annual meeting in June 2006 for this important community event. Your participation is so critical for your community. In order to encourage attendance at next year’s meeting we are planning to have the meeting at Monocacy Village Park Pavilion. We will be serving food and refreshments that will be free to all members of the association and their families. After we eat, we will start our meeting. Remember a strong HOA helps to keep our property values up and makes our community a place where people want to live. New Management Agent Clagett Enterprises, Inc., the River Crest Homeowners’ Association’s management company has assigned a new management agent our account. We are pleased to welcome Ms. Mary Ann Garst as our new agent. The Board of Directors had the pleasure of being introduced to her by Mr. Thomas Clagett at our August board meeting. Mary Ann has a number of years’ experience in this area of expertise and we are looking forward to working with her in the coming years. As most members of the association are aware, the HOA has contracted with Clagett Management, Inc. for primarily the financial management of the HOA. In addition the BOD has turned over additional responsibilities to the management company to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the HOA. Any management concerns, correspondence or architectural issues should be directed to Mary Ann’s attention at Clagett Management and she will direct it to the appropriate individual or committee. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Thomas Clagett for the work that he did on our behalf, prior to Mary Ann’s assignment to the account. New HOA Board of Directors Elected At the last annual meeting of the members of the River Crest Homeowners’ Association, new board members were elected. The new members of the BOD are Lucy Till and Dorothea Bowie, both of whom were elected for a three-year term. Lucy Till and her husband Paul moved to 434 Delaware Road, River Crest in December 2000 from Gaithersburg, MD. Lucy retired in 2002 after thirty-three years with Giant Food. She enjoys traveling, gardening and cooking. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They are pleased to have all the children living in the Frederick area. Lucy will serve as secretary for the coming year. Returning members of the BOD are Noah Jefferson, elected as this year’s President, Kara McDermott elected as Vice President, and Bill O’Neal. Noah and Bill have one year left of their terms and Kara has two years remaining. Noah and his wife Marge live at 404 Geronimo Court. They moved to River Crest in October 2000 after living in Michigan for twenty-eight years. Their daughter Pam Rose (Walter) and their three grandchildren, Cameron, Senior at TJ High School, Maura, Sophomore at TJ High School, and Marjorie, seventh grade at TJ Middle School, live in Fredericktowne Village. Noah and Marge’s son Noah III lives in Detroit, Michigan. Noah says he is looking forward to serving as President of the HOA for the coming year. Kara McDermott and her husband Joe live at 848 Geronimo Dr. They moved to River Crest in August 2001. They have two daughters, Baillie, age 7, and Madison, age 2. Kara is a 6th grade teacher in a Montgomery County Public School. Joe is an investigator with Allstate Insurance. Bill O’Neal and his wife Connie, moved to 815 Aztec Drive, River Crest in February 2000 and have lived in Frederick County their entire married life of thirty-two years. They have four children, Kristy, Katie (Cannon), Kelli, and Jon. Kelli and Jon live with their parents in River Crest and their two older children have their own homes in Frederick County. In addition Bill and Connie have one grandchild, Jacob Cannon who spends a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa while Jacob’s parents work. Bill retired from Ft. Detrick in 1999 after thirty-four years service. He was the HOA president for the past three years. Welcome Sign to Our Community The Board of Directors is looking into the possibility of erecting a sign at the Delaware Road entrance to the River Crest Community. We are in the process of negotiating with one of our homeowners for an easement for this sign. We will keep you posted on the progress of this project. New Members of the Community As everyone knows the real estate market remains hot in Frederick City and County. As with most communities in the area, homes are being resold in River Crest. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome any new residents to our community. For information about the community, please visit our web site shown on the top of this newsletter. If anyone has anything that they would like to communicate to the BOD, feel free to email us at the email address also located on the top of the newsletter. When you use this email address a copy of your email will be sent to each member of the Board of Directors. The BOD has established a welcome to our community project so if you are new to the community please email us or if any member of the community knows of new folks moving in; please notify us so that we can appropriately welcome them as our new neighbor. Safety First! Please remember that this is a family community and the very last thing anyone would want is for one of the children to be injured. If you find that you or one of your visitors must park on the streets, please try and park so that you will not obscure the view of other motorists from seeing the children at play. Also please remember to watch your speed and stay alert for children at play areas or in the streets. Let’s keep this a safe community for all our families. |
