Homeowners’ Association  Annual Meeting

And

Family Picnic on June 17th

Family Picnic Planned

June 17, 2006 is the date set for the family picnic and Homeowners’ Association annual meeting.  To encourage attendance of this meeting the Board of Directors has decided to make this a family event.  A picnic is being planned at Monocacy Park Pavilion from 5-9 pm.  Food will be provided courtesy of the HOA.  Please plan to attend this event so that you will have an opportunity to meet your new neighbors  nd have some fellowship with the entire community.  This is the only time when we, as a community, have an opportunity to get together.

After a picnic meal we will begin the meeting where you will receive an update on HOA business and we will elect individuals to fill three Board of Directors positions.  Two positions are for a three-year term and one is for a two-year term.  If you are interested in any filling one of these vacancies, please fill out an online application at our web site: www.rivercresthoa.com. In addition, there are always needs for you to participate personally in the other committees of the HOA.  We hope that you will all remember that a strong HOA keeps the value of your home high.  We all have huge investments in our homes and it is important that we keep the community in good repair to protect our investments.

One of the BOD members will be visiting you prior to the date of the picnic to get a “head count” for food preparation.

New Neighbors

As everyone has surely noticed, there have been a number of houses sold in the River Crest Community over the past year.  We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new folks to our neighborhood.  We sincerely hope that you will find this a positive, friendly area to live.

The HOA does have a welcoming committee but unfortunately we do not always know how to get in touch with our. If anyone in the community has any information about our new neighbors, please contact one of the board members or email us at:  rchoa@rivercresthoa.com.  An email sent to this address will be forwarded to all the Board of Directors.

Reminder for Other Special Events

The River Crest Homeowners’ Association is fully supportive of special events such as holiday events, yard sales, etc., however these events are not planned by the Board of Directors.  If anyone would like to see these any of these events continue or have ideas for new events, please contact a member of the Board of Directors.  You may also contact the Board by sending an email to our email address at rchoa@rivercresthoa.com.  All mail sent to this email address is automatically sent to each member of the board and you will be contacted by one of the board members to discuss the event and determine what support or advertising you need for a successful event. Local newspaper ads for yard sales would be paid by the HOA.  Remember: You are an important member of this community. Through your help, River Crest can continue to be the family-oriented community in which people love to live.

Covenant Violations

Members of the Board of Directors received an anonymous letter from one of our neighbors expressing concern that the LARC (Landscape and Architectural Review Committee) has not addressed certain alleged violations of the River Crest Covenants.  All of the items addressed were NOT in the River Crest Community but instead, in the Monocacy Crossing Community.  As a reminder, River Crest consists of 64 homes from 423 Delaware Road to 828 Geronimo Drive.  All other homes in the area are under the control of other community associations.  It addition it should be noted that River Crest II (behind Delaware Court and portions of Geronimo Drive) will not be part of the River Crest Community’s HOA.

The LARC attempts to address known violations of the covenants but it is not possible for them to be aware of all possible violations.  If, however, you are aware of any violations, please contact the LARC to address these problems.  The contact person for the LARC is Joe McDermott at 848 Geronimo Drive.  His phone number is 301-605-1064 and his email is jojomcd@aol.com or you can send an email to the rchoa@rivercresthoa.com and it will be forward to the LARC.
